My company is putting in some new servers to handle all the additional people we are about to hire. I am trying to help save money for the company by trying to locate refurbished iseries servers to install, instead of buying new ones. The company downstairs said they saved thousands by putting in a refurbished used pseries server about two months ago.

I have asked them to keep their eyes open for what I am looking for, and they told me that they would. I am hoping that I find it first, before anyone else so that I can take all the credit. I would think that I would be first in line for a promotion if I can show how I can help to save money.

The secretary from downstairs called and said that the place where they got their used pseries server did have two iseries servers that they would sell for about half of what a new one would cost. They would even do the installation for us, if we wanted them to.

I called and made the necessary arrangements to have the servers installed the next business day. When I told my boss about my great find, he thanked me for looking for and finding a great money saver.
