The whole reason for me collecting the coins when I was a kid was to resell them when I got older and make a fortune. That is pretty much not going to happen, I have found out. I do not have many rare coins that the dealers look for.

I did sell silver coins to a pawn shop one time, and they have me twenty dollars apiece for them. When I went in the following week, they were selling silver coins that looked exactly like my old ones for seventy five dollars apiece. I guess that I should have found out just how much they actually were worth, before offering them to the shop.

Now, I hear that the price of gold and silver are at an all time high and that people are selling silver coins, necklaces and anything else that they have that is made of silver. I would be willing to sell silver coins from my collection, if I would stand to make a few bucks. It is either that, or let them sit in a box under my bed for the next twenty years. I am going to tell my kids to not collect coins, it really does not do any good and they will never make any real money with it.
